Synopsis

This Burkinabe coming-of-age story follows 13-year-old Ady, an obnoxious French teen who is sent by his father to relatives in Burkina Faso. Set against the beautiful vast landscape of southern Burkina Faso, this character-driven film paints an intimate portrayal of the relationships Ady forges with his Uncle, Grandmother and Grandfather. What starts out as an uncomfortable adjustment to life in a rural village, far away from his Western values - headphones, rap and expensive trainers - over time creates a harmony between tradition and modernity in this tender journey of belonging.
